The Davos Course for gastrointestinal surgery offers a varied and manifold programme of scientific sessions and practical exercises to surgeons in training. The aim of this course is to foster each participant’s knowledge and to develop and improve the individual practical skills in safe standard surgical techniques, both in conventional and laparoscopic surgery.
Scientific Program
The Davos Course offers three different levels of skills training and corresponding lectures, each consisting of two modules.
Basic Course
Suture- and anastomosis techniques in the GI-tract with focus on small/large intestine and stomach
Learning of basic laparoscopic techniques
Intermediate Course
Suture- and anastomosis techniques in the GI-tract with focus on upper GI and lower GI anastomoses
Further development of laparoscopic skills
Advanced Course
Learning advanced techniques in colorectal surgery
Learning advanced techniques in hernia surgery
Learning the relevant techniques of bariatric surgery
Learning advanced techniques in HPB surgery
